Because at-risk communities in Bengaluru often come from other states in India for jobs and opportunities, they do not qualify for Karnataka programs for reduced medical care for those living below the poverty level. Even if they do qualify, having surgery or treatment in a safe hospital is out of the realm of possibility for many. With the generosity of donors, appropriate medical care, often life-saving, is within reach. Links often has a waitlist of children who need treatment. They only come off the waitlist if Links has the donations to pay for their treatment. For Indian organizations looking to use CSR funding to help Links, donations are used immediately and on an on-going  basis.
